Indiegogo supports the Access Control POE Internet Keypad

Most things in life can not be measured monetarily. I say that as prelude to our report on our Indiegogo campaign in which we wracked in a mere $150. But what we gained from our campaign is actually priceless. It got our energy moving forward, crystalized our belief in the project, and enlarged our circle of enthusiasts. The campaign ended on June 25, but our plans to carry on with our visions goes full steam ahead.

Indiegogo offered us a chance to come together as a team and tell our story.

We loved the whole process of our campaign—and we are inspired to make our next pitch more compelling. Stay tuned for more keypad breakthroughs. Thanks for believing in us!

What happens in the keypad stays in the keypad

Identity theft is not just paranoid thinking. According to Justice Department, in about 8.6 million households at least one person 12 or older experienced some kind of identity theft in 2010. That same year, the Justice department estimates, identity theft cost households a total of $13.3 billion in 2010 in direct financial losses.

Of course, large corporations are victims of identity theft too. Electrone’s 720 numeric keypad can help corporations that handle and are responsible for private information protect personal data from being stolen and used in identity theft schemes. Plus, an institution’s implementation of up-to-date technology for better data security stands to not only improve relations with existing customers, clients, and employees, but can also help forge new relations based on the identity theft protection offered by its technological infrastructure.

Two common ways that identity theft criminals acquire peoples’ personal data are by simply listening and watching. To help prevent identity theft, institutions should therefore implement technology — Electrone numeric keypads do the trick—that minimize how often its customers, clients, and employees have to say their private information out loud, and how often these individuals have to enter their private information into exposed devices.

Electrone 720 Series Numeric Keypads are currently used by numerous institutions for precisely that reason—individuals do not have to say their social security numbers to get service or treatment. Instead, they can key in their information for automatic identification. The institutions using Electrone keypads for this application, which include medical centers; banks; and driver’s license offices, are making major strides toward protecting individuals from identity theft.

With the proper software, data entered into a 720 Series Numeric Keypad can be 100 percent encrypted, which prevents the data from being deciphered by unauthorized programs. Electrone numeric keypads can also be programmed so that their LCD screens show asterisks instead of actual digits. Furthermore, 720 Series Numeric Keypads can be customized to feature privacy shields that prevent anyone from seeing the numbers entered by users. Institutions can even choose from different interface options, such as Serial; USB; TCP/IP; and PoE, the latter two of which gives the keypads secure Ethernet connectivity.

Electrone keypads are customized to meet your businesses specific needs, so projects are handled efficiently and companies run smoothly. Whatever your requirements, the Electrone 720 series Numeric Keypad will help protect your client’s private information and strengthen your reputation as a trusted resource.

Six reasons to use customized keypads

Sometimes the best way to appreciate something is to make a list. At Electrone, we are big fans of our keypads for countless reasons that we are inspired to try counting out.

Work with a range of softwares

The keypad’s easy adaptability and flexibility makes the Electrone 735 the perfect choice to complement a huge range of management software

Integrate with external devices

RFID readers, finger print readers, bar code readers and magnetic card readers all work well with the keypads to secure personal info.

Nothing extraneous

Electrone’s keyboards cut keystrokes and mouse movements, saving time and money.

Speaks your language

Electrone keyboards can accommodate various language layouts. For example, the Electrone 9005 mini keyboard can be programmed in foreign languages.

More ergonomically sound

Our keyboards design helps limit your hands’ movement over your desk from keyboard to mouse and mouse to keyboard, which translates to less stress on your hands, wrists, arms, elbows, and shoulders.

The keys to the kingdom

Electrone gets rid of the real estate wasted on obsolete keys. We streamline but adapt to every situation. Plus, we have more keys available than standard keyboards.

With so much going for them, customizable keyboards can have a huge impact on the quality of your work life. Check out their potential— we don’t think you’ll have reason for disappointment.

When speed is at a premium

Most call centers are quick to invest in any new technology that promises to improve agent productivity. Electrone’s 150 keyboard is a perfect fit for the relentless pace of call centers: it reduces repetitive keyboard strokes and maximizes efficiency. Designed with the needs of call centers as the uppermost priority, the 150 has numerous features that dovetail perfectly to suit daily operations.

Here are some of the stand-out capabilities of the 150 keyboard:

  •  Standard USB port with secondary keyboard port passthrough, USB
  • Up to 150 programmable keys
  • Key switches rated at 1,000,000 cycles of operation
  • Removable transparent key tops to enable labeling
  • Powder-coated metal enclosure
  • 12-month limited warranty
  • Various language layouts

Armed with these features, employees can handle the volume and pace of a typical call center with relative ease. Functionality streamlines the job, letting employees concentrate on the caller, not computer glitches.

The key to productivity may be in the keyboard

What does improving the working environment mean to you? At Google, it means free food in the cafeteria, and subsidized massages. At Electrone, it means supplying the best keyboard you can afford—the 150 keyboard is worth the added investment.

Several studies have shown that humans have strong reactions to design. This is not an intellectual response—our reactions to things we touch, drive, and operate occur on a visceral level. Good design, it has been shown, can increase creativity, motivation, and productivity. Thus a user-friendly keyboard, the call center’s primary tool, can have a dramatic impact. With all the design perks and programmability of Electrone’s 150 keyboard, employees are empowered to be both fast and thorough.

Employees want to feel valued and they want to look forward to coming to a work environment that is comfortable. Take a hard look at the technology you’re utilizing, and whether it is something the employee has to fight against or flow with. If your keyboard has flexibility, intuitive key placement, and eases the strain of repetitive actions, you’ve made huge strides toward employee satisfaction.

Boost efficiency, ease strain—the 150 keyboard does it all

Working at a call center is hectic, fast-paced, and repetitive. Your equipment should make your job easier, not harder. Enter Electrone Americas 150 keyboard. Designed in response to call center and related industries need for pre-programmable key actions, the 150 has up to 150 user-programmable keys. Added benefits are particularly useful for call centers, such as illuminated keys, keys configured for specific software applications, color-coded options, and the potential for a built in LCD display.

And the final coup de grâce? The keys are arranged in logical groups of panels, making for a more intuitive selection and simpler navigation.

Our customers love the keyboard’s adaptability, ease of use and efficiency. It’s built for speed—perhaps the No. 1 priority of call centers. The keyboard accelerates the automation of any user application requiring standard forms or a relational database. With its key switches rated at 1,000, 000 cycles of operation and various language layouts, you don’t want to settle for anything less.

Minimize the risk of identity theft

With identity theft once more on the rise—a survey by Javelin Strategy & Research reports that 12.6 million Americans were victimized by identity theft in 2012, up more than a million from the previous year— erring on the side of precaution when it comes to personal information makes good sense. That’s why the Electrone 735 range of specialty keypads make the perfect choice for your business. Easy to integrate into your current software applications, the keypads eliminate the need to say confidential information out loud, offering the option to manually type into the keypad for verification instead. Your customers will appreciate the steps your business takes to reduce the potential of identity theft by keeping personal information secure. The keypad’s ease of use coupled with the peace of mind it offers is an unbeatable combo. Customers, grateful for the precautionary approach, tend to stay loyal to the keypad—and the business it’s linked to—that protects them.
